Class Overview
This class is designed to introduce the fundamentals of both ballet and jazz dance styles. Through a structured yet playful approach, your dancer will embark on a journey of discovery, learning ballet positions, movements, and terminology while also exploring dynamic jazz routines filled with jumps, turns, and kicks. With a focus on fostering creativity, musicality, and self-expression, the class provides a supportive environment where young dancers can develop their coordination, confidence, and love for movement.

Fall 2026 Term Schedule
September to December (approximately 12 weeks, concluding with a final showcase in early December)

Dress Code: Pink canvas or leather ballet shoes are mandatory. Dancers should wear form-fitting attire such as tights and a bodysuit, dancewear like skirts or dresses, or leggings paired with a fitted t-shirt. Jeans and other restrictive clothing are not permitted.

Instructor: Leah Paterson
Ms. Leah began her journey with X-treme in kindergarten and transitioned to competitive dance in second grade, continuing for 11 years until graduating high school. During high school and her undergraduate studies, she taught JellyTots classes before relocating for further education. She is now a speech-language pathologist. A fun fact about Ms. Leah is that she completed the Grade 8 piano exams with the Royal Conservatory. Dance, and specifically Xtreme, has always been her community and second family. Her favorite dance styles are jazz, tap, and contemporary.

Please note: All registration fees are non-refundable
